Waterproof + Sweatproof Compass Pendant Necklace

A compass is a mangenometer used for navigation and orientation that shows direction in regards to the geographic cardinal points. It was invented more than 2000 years ago.

While this is a non-functional compass, we love the sentiment behind it and having a talisman and reminder of navigating this life and trusting that we will always have direction to find our way.

The compass and chain are 316L Waterproof Stainless Steel and comes with a 3mm round Venetian box. Also available as a set with a shorter rope chain for a cool and modern layered look.

Saint Christopher Medal on Venetian Round Box 3mm Chain

Of all the stories of saints and deities, Saint Christopher's story is by far my favorite one. According to legend, Saint Christopher devoted his life to carrying the weak and poor across a river. One night, when he was carrying a child, he felt his burden grow heavier with each step. When questioned, the child declared that he was Christ and that Christopher was thus bearing the weight of the world.

Saint Christopher is considered the Patron Saint of travelers.

Large Saint Benedcit Medal for Men

The St. Benedict medal is one of the oldest and most honored medals and, due to the belief in its power against evil, is also known as the "devil-chasing medal".

The back of the medal carries the Vade Retro Satana ("Begone, Satan!") formula which has been used to ward off evil since the 15th century.

The medal is used as a protection amulet to ward off spiritual and physical dangers, especially those related to evil, poison, and temptation. Surrounding the figure of Saint Benedict are the words Eius in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur! ("May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death").

Buddha Necklace for Men

A close cousin to the Cuban chain we talked about in previous blogs, the CURB chain is similar but the links don't have the bevel edge that makes them flatter so by eliminating the facet the Cuban has less reflective surfaces and therefore is more subdued.

For those of you who don't know I (WAAS Creator) went to Photography and Film School. That's what I majored in. I was so lucky to learn Photography right when digital cameras were starting because I still had the luck to learn everything about Photography on film. So way back when, cameras didn't have a preview screen, they had a "Polaroid back". All professional cameras had a Polaroid back that allowed you to switch between film and Polaroid and you could preview your shots and lighting on a Polaroid print. That's why these little instant photos will always be a part of me and remind of my school days (LACC Forever!)

Each shoot we take anywhere from 1,500 to 3000 photos and we have to narrow that down to the best 100 or so depending on how many styles of jewelry we photographed. Hard to believe but we just had our 8th photoshoot with Joss Mooney for our Men's Jewelry line. This is our 4th photoshoot in Los Angeles on top of the two we did in the UK and two in Dubai. This time around we decided more on editorial content and needed the necklaces to be noticeable on wide editorial type shots, so we decided to layer all our thick gold necklaces, chains and pendants to create layers that would pop well on the photographs on top of capturing the look of this stellar location in Los Angeles. I know I know I'm like a comet that comes around every few months/years and then goes away. You guys just keep me so busy (THANK YOU BTW). Recently I've gone into this algorithm calculations of the stock we sell in a year so everything could be pre-made and that will leave some extra time for new photos, new styles, blogs posts, etc. I kinda think it's working (thank you to Chavez & Co for assembling all our jewelry) (fingers crossed) so here I am. Just did a couple shoots with some goodies and I can't wait for you guys to see! Here is a preview of Kyle wearing a re-issue of our boxing gloves necklace that we brought back for our 10 year anniversary in a bronze-sterling combo and now we made in a sterling-sterling combo for our 11th year celebration. 11 WOW!

The First 10 Years celebration of the brand is giving me all these excuses to re-visit the WAAS archives and find all these goodies that had been forgotten and bring them back out.

"In the Middle of Glorious Battle" was a white t-shirt from Collection No. 4. Last year a customer asked me to remake that t-shirt but once I saw the graphic I just wasn't feeling it. I asked him if it was the graphic or the phrase he was interested in and he said that phrase hit him deeply and that's why he wanted to purchase again the t-shirt he has worn so many times for so many years. So instead of using the old graphic this was a great chance to re-imagine it in a completely different way. I didn't make it with the intention of releasing it but I figured a Ten Year Celebration was a good opportunity to release B-sides. All those graphics that were never released/seen or made for other occasions. Here is our first B-side.
